SpeedBooking Nornbear HM Troubles - Guild Wars Forums

I have gotten lucky and killed the nornbear, but it was always a chore, and never seemed to be the right 'heroes' for what i was doing, maybe it was even the henchmen.

I run the first two bears, then die at the right shrine and spawn my entire team at mr nornbear. Then, i die at mr nornbear over half the time. Does anyone know the right heroes/henchmen to use against this lvl 30 annoyance?

I use 2 spiritspam rits, 1 n/rt healer, 2 hench eles and 2 hench monks

I use about the same team every time I do Curse of the Nornbear.

Tease/Illusion Hero
Lina
Zho
Eve
Herta

I don't die at all, even in HM the Jotun aren't a big deal, and the Nornbear itself is simple. I don't pick up the Wolf skill, as I know where the Nornbear spawns are, and just head to them.

I use a spirit spammer rit then just fill up with henchmen. just mhenlo, both eles, both wars, and whatever ele i feel like taking. pull the bear into the shrine before you die so that when the rit pops spirits hes next to them all, use PI, and then when he uses the shout thingy (cant remember what its called) see -80 -80 -80 -80 -80 -80 -80 -80 -80 -80 -80 -80 -80 -80 -80 and boom he dies in a few times

You don't understand what he is doing. MM is useless for speedbooking because your whole team dies then a sin perma runs to each spawn point. You then res near the last spawn point of the nornbear. You only fight him 1 time.

Go with a couple rt spirit spammers. A wanderlust and earthbind should make it easy for you. Have them each run a couple support skills like WoW and a pot of some kind. Run a 3rd healer hero and then run a couple damage heroes. The hench ele heroes suck in HM. I suggest like a necro hench for some armor ignoring damage. Then run 2 healer hench. 1 healer hench would probably suffice once you get good at it and tweak your rt bars nicely. So, once you get to that point swap the 2nd healer hench for some more damage to speed it up. Doing it with a 2nd person and him/her bringing heroes makes it alot easier aswell. I generally offer the run as a free service and have them bring 3 damage heroes.

Remember Disc and Sabway both suck vs the nornbear.

Considering how much problem the OP is having, it would probably be faster for him to forget about "speed booking" and just kill the bear the "normal" way.

I just use whatever character I happen to be playing at the time, plus an MM hero, a ebon dust ranger hero and an interrupt ranger or ele hero (whichever I feel like), 2 healer henches, plus 2 other henchies (w/e). I've never had any particular problem doing it, even in HM, but it would be slower than "speed booking" (and a lot more fun)

edit - I skip the shrine, of course.

i just use standard discord heros 3 necros, hench dont matter, pain inverter and ymlad never a problem

I found Discord rubbish for speedbooking CotN. He strips hexes too fast and there are no corpses for MM meatshield. I use Jora, Koss, Goren and 4 hench. Kills him without a problem.

Wow... overthink it much? I did the mission dozens of times in HM, using one of the first versions of Sabway, both ele henchies and both monk henchies. Takes me about 7 minutes. Not "speedbooking" but it goes very smoothly anyway.

Are your heroes equipped properly? I did the mission in HM with a full hench team (on a char with crap heroes) and it went perfectly. Something HAS to be wrong if you keep failing.

pain inverter is useless against him as he has spamable hex removal.

i take two nuker heros, 1 spirit spam, both warrior hench and both ele hench.

you dont need healers. your standing on a res shrine lol.

as for my skill bar i put on ebon battle stance and sin support.

he drops like a sack of potato's in 30 seconds.
